The common bond for membership of Glasgow Credit Union applies at the point of joining and members do not need to continue to meet this criteria after initial qualification.
If you’re moving out of our common bond area, you might be wondering if you can continue to remain a member.
What Happens When You Leave the Common Bond?
One of the most common questions we receive is: “Can I still be a member if I move away?”
Yes, you can remain a member. While members must live or work within our common bond area when you become a member, existing members who move elsewhere are welcome to keep their accounts as long as they continue to permanently reside in the UK.
Whether you’re moving to Edinburgh, London, or further afield, you’ll still be able to manage your account through our digital services:
- Online and mobile banking – Access your account 24/7, wherever you are.
- Telephone support – Our Member Services team is just a call away.
- Direct debit and salary deduction – Continue saving or repaying loans seamlessly.
If your address or other contact details are changing, remember to let us know so we can keep in touch and ensure you don’t miss any important updates.
